From the field...
We'll begin with a walk through the vineyard and olive grove, personally leading you to where it all begins.
We'll discover the differences between different grape varieties and olives varieties, see vineyards and olive trees of different ages, and discover the characteristics of good soil for viticulture!
To production...
We continue to the wine cellar to discover all the secrets of winemaking and aging, and to the olive oil cellar, where we store our "liquid gold": extra virgin olive oil!
To the tasting...
With a short walk in the woods, among views and dry stone walls, the visit will end with a tasting of our products, certified organic since 1999:
- Let's start with olive oil... with a comparative tasting of two extra virgin olive oils: our Plenum extra virgin, awarded by nationally and internationally renowned competitions and guides, and an industrially produced oil, together identifying their strengths and weaknesses.
- Let's continue with wine... tasting three of our own wines, paired with Tuscan products, with a focus on Sangiovese and the culture of wine and its pairing with food in Tuscany.
We want you to discover all this firsthand , telling you about the work we do every day in the vineyard, olive grove, and cellar, with our own hands.

Intolerances and allergies : please communicate any intolerances and allergies at the time of booking.
Rain : In case of rain or if the ground conditions are unfavorable, the vineyard and olive grove tours will not be possible. We guarantee you'll be able to fully enjoy your Poggiopiano experience no matter what!
We'll meet directly at the winery: you'll find all the necessary information in the reminder email you'll receive the day before the experience.
We recommend comfortable shoes and a hat.
The experience is not suitable for those who have difficulty walking and/or standing for long periods.

Cancellation of the experience is subject to the unquestionable judgment of Fattoria di Poggiopiano di Martina Galardi who will promptly inform the Client. If Fattoria di Poggiopiano believes that the conditions for carrying out the experience exist, any cancellation after the terms will be considered a non-refundable cancellation.
The passion for the land, for good wine and olive oil led the Galardi Brothers to buy Poggiopiano in 1935: a turning point in the history of the family, which has since been dedicated to the production of oil and wine and to the construction of mechanical equipment for the production of cereals, wine and oil.
In 1985 Mauro Galardi, in his early twenties, put his passion for wine and oil to good use for his profession, studying as a self-taught.
Mauro still today, together with his daughter Martina, is keen to talk about the family management and the commitment to preserve traditions while welcoming innovations and progress.
The vineyards and olive groves extend over 17 hectares, at an altitude of 150 meters above sea level. On the lean, marl and calcareous soils, the productions are limited in quantity, but qualitatively important. Exposure to the sun determines a particularly favorable microclimate and the absence of humidity stagnation minimizes parasitic attacks. This favors a low environmental impact agronomic management, certified organic for 20 years now and flanked by the use of renewable energy sources and the study of packaging materials.
